They will also have the chance to experience Turkish culture firsthand as they stay with local hosts. This academically significant event provides an opportunity for our guests to explore a new country while enhancing their social skills and gaining a deeper understanding of various cultures through the lenses of law and art.

About Istanbul

Istanbul that is historically known as Constantinople and Byzantium, is the most popular city in Türkiye and the country’s economic, cultural and historic center. This is one of the greatest cities in the world where you can see a modern western city combined with a traditional eastern city.

Istanbul is the only city in the world that straddles two continents: Asia and Europe. So the main selling point of Istanbul has always been a bridge between Asia and Europe.

Istanbul is surrounded by the sea, with the Bosphorus cutting right through it.

Istanbul has also been announced as the European Capital of Culture by the European Union in 2010.

Since the foundation of the Turkish Republic in 1923, Istanbul has continued to grow and today it boosted its population by over 14 million people living in this spread-out city. This makes Istanbul the largest city in Türkiye and one of the biggest cities in the world.

Istanbul’s historical peninsula is a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1986 which is the heart of ancient Istanbul. Four major empires were ruled from this point. The Historical Peninsula, adorned with a vast number of museums and historical monuments, is the first destination for thousands of foreign and local tourists. It is the former heart of the Ottoman Empire. With popular sights such as the Topkapi Palace, Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque, the Hippodrome, and the Basilica Cistern, Sultanahmet is a natural magnet to millions of tourists in Istanbul also with its variety of souvenirs and carpets, restaurants and cafés, hotels, and guest houses.

The relatively traffic-free region makes it easy to explore around on foto and by tram.

During the week that you will spend in Istanbul, you will have a chance to visit these historical places which have been an important witness to world history. If you are interested in seeing and exploring Istanbul with all its beauty and have a lifetime experience with people from all around the World, don’t hesitate to apply! The team of Youth Istanbul is ready and waiting for you!

Law and Art Workshop

LAW and ART

This year, the Youth Istanbul Project will focus on the theme of “Law and Art,” exploring the multifaceted relationship between legal systems and creative expression. It will also address the role of registration and legal enforcement in safeguarding the rights of artists and creators.

Furthermore, the theme will highlight the influence of art on legal systems, showcasing how creative expression can challenge, reshape, and inspire legal norms. The project will delve into key areas such as intellectual property rights, trademarks, patents, and copyright, examining how laws protect and regulate artistic works and innovations.

By fostering discussions and workshops, the project aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of how law and art intersect to shape cultural, social, and economic landscapes.
